What you should know about carpet:
1. Carpet Styles and Types
From plush to low pile, this is what you need to know when picking the right type of carpet for your flooring renovation:
Berber: Berber carpet, also known as loop pile carpet, is manufactured with all loops, meaning the yarn is sewn into the backing and left uncut. This style of carpet is the most durable and often used in commercial spaces such as doctor offices, airports, etc.
Plush: Plush carpet, also known as cut pile carpet, is designed for comfort and the most popular style of carpet. Although not as durable as Berber, or loop carpet, certain types of plush are able to withstand high foot traffic.
Textured: Textured carpet is a combination of loop carpet and cut pile carpet. Designed to be more comfortable than a Berber, but more durable than a plush, texture carpet often comes in unique designs and patterns.
2. Carpet Project Types
We’re ready to help with all of your carpet needs here in Pittsburgh! Let’s dive into what types of carpet installations you might look for:
Wall-To-Wall:
Also known as “fitted carpets” or “broadloom,” wall-to-wall carpeting covers the entirety of the selected room or rooms. We can install wall-to-wall carpet throughout your entire home, or just on a one-room job. For these projects, we provide free, in-home measurements and quotes.
Stair Runners:
With stair runners, we can add a pop of color to your staircase for a unique touch. This can be a part of a wall-to-wall carpet job, or a stand-alone project.
Custom Area Rugs:
Need something a bit more custom than you’re finding online? We can bind and serge any of our carpet options to create a custom area rug for your home. Or you can choose from some of our available standard rugs from top brands such as Loloi and others.
Remnant Carpet:
Carpet is produced in roll sizes of 300 feet or longer, and after orders are placed, those rolls decrease in length. The short roll balances then get placed in the mill’s remnant department. We are proud to also offer the widest selection of remnant carpet in the Pittsburgh area at great prices – up to 70% off of regular retail prices! Our buying team is constantly working with our carpet mills to purchase their remnant inventory at reduced prices, allowing us to provide carpet solutions at every budget.
